Tell us what you have
List the number of units, what they powered and their weight, and say if they are still connected in a bank. A few small UPS batteries and one forklift battery are very different lifting jobs.
Forklift battery disposal starts with how the battery comes out. A forklift on site may not lift it safely, so we agree the equipment and people first.
Keep batteries intact
Don't drain electrolyte, open cells or take a battery apart. Note leaks, broken cases and damaged terminals without moving the unit. Damaged batteries are checked separately.
Keep batteries upright. EPA Victoria has guidance on industrial battery management. Never put used batteries in general waste.
Tell us how to reach them
Show where the batteries are, the route to the loading point and any steps or low ceilings. Your maintenance team handles any UPS shutdown. Tell us if a forklift or crane is on site, and who is arranging any specialist disconnection.
