What we accept
-
Tungsten carbide inserts, cutting tools and tooling.
-
Inserts kept apart from steel holders and mixed metal, where safe.
-
Strong containers that suit the weight, with sharp edges covered.
-
Tell us about coatings, brazed parts, attached holders, oil and coolant.
-
Grinding sludge and unknown mixtures described separately.
Tell us what you have
Inserts from different jobs can look alike in a tub. Use the original packaging or supplier details to say what they are, and mark unknown items separately. Send a close photo of the inserts and labels, and say whether this is a one-off or regular.
How to pack it
Carbide is heavy for its size. Use strong containers and keep sharp edges enclosed. Keep dry inserts apart from coolant and grinding sludge.
What happens next
Our material recovery programmes take tooling on its own. Wait for our reply before sending anything.
For a wider workshop job, use equipment retirement and list the tooling separately. Related materials: nickel superalloys, nylon offcuts and mixed metal. See Materials we work with for how to pack them.
Collection arrangements
Collection across metropolitan Melbourne, with delivery to our yard available by arrangement for business loads.
