Apple computer recycling: what we collect

iMacs, MacBooks, Mac minis, Mac Pros and Mac Studios from business fleets, in any condition, plus Apple displays, keyboards and docks. One iMac can come to Braeside by appointment; a fleet is collected from your site.

Unlock each Mac and decide on the data

Before anything leaves, sign each Mac out of iCloud, turn off Find My and remove it from Apple Business Manager or your MDM. A locked Mac can't be wiped, so it can only be recycled.

Then decide: wipe in place, or destroy the drive. On newer Macs the storage is part of the logic board, so destroying it means destroying the board.

How to pack the fleet

Count by model and year. The serial number in About This Mac is enough. Keep chargers with laptops. Stand iMacs upright on pallets with the screens protected, or leave them for our team to pack. Note any cracked screens or units that won't turn on.

How it works

  1. Send the list. Model, year, count and condition.

  2. Clear the locks and agree the data instruction. Every Mac unlocked, and wipe or destroy decided.

  3. We collect. We count the Macs with your contact. Drives are wiped or destroyed as you instruct, and the Macs are recycled for the aluminium, glass and boards.

You get written confirmation once the wipe or destruction is done.

Collection, minimums and timing

Collection across metropolitan Melbourne, with delivery to our yard available by arrangement for business loads.

There is no minimum. The collection fee depends on the load and access, and the quote comes back by email once we have looked at what you have.

Batteries in devices

Laptops, phones and tablets can come as they are, with their batteries in. Loose, swollen or damaged lithium batteries are not taken. Tell us if any device is swollen, cracked or has been in water.
